Discover the Art of Gyotaku

Sea & Scales is a haven for art lovers, where the traditional Japanese technique of Gyotaku, or fish printing, is brought to life. Sea & Scales is a collaboration of Bridget Sawitsky's fine art training and Nancy Sonett's love of designing and sewing. As a skilled Gyotaku artist, Bridget Sawitsky captures the exact likeness of the fish with ink on rice paper to create a unique art piece. From her original works, she then reproduces limited edition giclees and has her images printed on fabric. Nancy then uses select gyotaku images to create a line of handmade home accessories and totes.
